How a drawingcomes to life.
How a drawing
comes to life.
1- The Observation
Every piece begins with looking! sometimes for minutes, sometimes for days. The subject reveals itself when you stop trying to find it.
2 - The First Mark
Charcoal on paper is an act of commitment. There is no undo. The first stroke sets the conversation between artist and surface.
3 - The Dialogue
Building tone, lifting light, pushing depth. The drawing talks back. You listen, adjust, and occasionally argue.
4 - The Stillness
Knowing when to stop is the hardest skill. A finished piece is one where every mark was necessary and none are in excess.
